Breamore C of E Primary School
A foundation for life
Sports Premium
The Government provides funding to schools to assist them in providing quality primary PE and school sport. Each school will receive £8000 plus an additional £5 per pupil  – for Breamore CE Primary this will equate to approximately £8,400.

At Breamore we have given careful consideration to how this money should be spent to ensure we are improving the quality of the sport and PE that we are already offering to the children and to encourage more children to get active.
As a result it has been decided that the Sports Premium will be spent on the following:
  • Employment of a specialist level 2 sports coach to facilitate the delivery of high quality PE to KS2 children
  • Enabling more children to take part in competitions and festivals throughout the year.
  • Circuits club before school twice weekly
  • Subsidy towards swimming costs, transport and training for teachers
  • Financial support for FSM children to attend charged after school clubs offered through the school
  • Support for the PE co-ordinator and other teachers to assist the school in developing high quality physical education
  • Purchase of new equipment
  • Employment of a coach to lead football training at lunchtime
  • Opportunities for children to try new sports such as Tri Golf and skipping workshops
  • Elite Sports Academy
  • Olympic Legacy Sports Challenge for KS1 and KS2
  • Mini Olympic Sports Day
  • Professional development for teachers to enable them to deliver quality PE lessons

Breamore has used some of the funding to pay for membership in the following packages to help us meet these aims:

Burgate Primary Cluster Sports Package:

  • Young sports ambassadors
  • Multi skills sessions for KS1 and KS2
  • Access and entry into the Burgate family Inter-school sports competitions
  • Specialist Sports coaching workshop
New Forest Sports Partnership:
  • Access to a wide range of sports competitions and events
  • Continued Professional Development - REAL PE
  • Access to British Gymnastics
Sports provision within school
Within school, our timetable offers all KS1 and KS2 children 2 hours of PE each week; an indoor gym or dance session and an outdoor games or athletics session. Throughout the year outside agencies come and deliver activities such as Tri-golf and Bikeability.
We have a popular cross country lunchtime club and also offer football to girls and boys. After school we offer fencing and a sports club run by PH Sports which rotates its focus.
Before school many children enjoy our circuits club - a great way to start the day!
